Abstract

When many people think of healthcare, they often think of the most basic and common approach to health, which is simply just routine checkups at the doctor’s office and receiving prescribed medication. However, there is a more holistic approach to healthcare which involves more than just visiting the doctor. This approach includes the individual and his or her own actions. This is referred to as Whole Health, which focuses on several aspects of life, including the following categories: Power of the Mind, Moving the Body, Surroundings, Personal Development, Food and Drink, Recharge, Relationships, and Spirit and Soul. This study utilizes a mix of questions, created after independent literature reviews by individual members of the group. The individual questions were combined and tested in a test survey, and afterwards the questions were revised and published in an official survey that was sent out to many people of several backgrounds. After closing the survey to additional responses, quantitative and qualitative analysis is being conducted on each of the different areas of Whole Health. Through statistical tests, the survey will help the research group determine what areas of holistic healthcare are lacking within certain communities. An implementation project will focus on how this information can be used to help spread the idea that holistic healthcare is just as important as what is seen as standard healthcare in the world today.
