In this episode, Marwan M. Kraidy discusses his award-winning book The Naked Blogger of Cairo: Creative Insurgency in the Arab World. Kraidy explores how the human body can be used as an organizing principle for creative insurgency and rebellious art through his critical reappraisal of the body politic in the digital age. Through his analysis of the ways in which protesters across the Arab World voiced dissent through slogans, graffiti, puppetry, and satire, Kraidy uncovers the cultural politics of the Arab Spring uprisings from 2010-2012.
