Abstract

Menopause is associated with accelerated cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk. Decreasing estrogen levels may contribute to this increased risk, but the levels fluctuate during perimenopause, where amenorrhea has not been present for >12 consecutive months. The purpose of this research is to compare CVD risk factors such as blood pressure (BP), aerobic fitness (VO2peak), sleep quality, mood, and quality of life (QOL) in women who are in early versus late perimenopause.
