Abstract

Previous studies of Childhood maltreatment (CM) report surmounting evidence of cognitive processing-related deficits, though the resulting features of brain function post-CM have yet to be substantiated. Here we seek to elucidate the elements of cognitive neural networks of adolescents post-CM by performing a quantitative meta-analysis of the current body of literature concerning cognitive processing and CM. In addition, we examine the Adolescent Brain Cognitive Development (ABCD) study to investigate a large-data set to derive proxy measures of CM.
