Abstract
This research examines the links between income, access to water, and health in Agbogbloshie, Ghana. This area is an informal settlement that suffers greatly from e-waste recycling. The study uses survey data from 785 households to examine how social and economic factors affect access to safe water and related health outcomes. The findings indicate that income offers some protection. Households with higher incomes are more likely to reach improved water sources, find it easier to access water, and report better health. By connecting household inequality to the environmental challenges of global e-waste systems, the project highlights how water can help us understand informality, health risks, and structural inequality in urban informal settlements.
