Abstract
Addressing HIV transmission is a global public health priority. Many marginalized populations are overlooked and face significant, persistent barriers when attempting to gain access to equal healthcare opportunities, prevention resources, and supportive services. As a result, people with disabilities are frequently at higher risk of receiving poorer healthcare access, including in sexual health and HIV testing services, compared to the general population. The goal of this study was to assess disability-related accessibility to community-based HIV testing programs in Florida. We sampled multiple organizations from across Florida’s HIV/AIDS Surveillance Areas. For each location, organization managers completed a needs assessment survey, semi-structured in-depth interviews, and we accessibility audit. This specific study focuses on the accessibility audit with focus on websites and social media. Findings will be used to inform technical assistance reports on how organizations can improve accessibility, reduce barriers, and better serve individuals with disabilities across diverse communities and service settings nationwide and beyond.
