Abstract
Integrative Medicine is the practice of treating a patient with a focus on overall well-being, holistic health, and prevention. A strong supplement to clinical medicine, integrative medicine combines allopathic practices and therapies to support the body’s natural healing processes. The main purpose of this project is to gain insight into how the greater public views integrative medicine. We aimed to measure how prevalent the use of integrative medicine is- and how likely individuals are to implement it into their life. As of now, results are still pending and proper conclusions cannot be made. In addition to the broader integrative medicine survey, an implementation project was developed. This project focused on addressing the implications of an individual’s financial status on their ability to access integrative medicine as a resource due to cost, lack of time, and lack of accessibility. Overall, the study found that the only significant barrier, when correlating with individual financial status, is cost of practice, rather than lack of accessibility or time. This project poses several areas for further study as well as community implementation that favors the results of the survey. The implementation chosen will include a series of infographics shared through a social media account to educate individuals on how to participate in integrative medicine practices at home.
