Abstract

Keeping accurate data on the presence of viral pathogens is crucial for understanding how they spread through populations. This is especially important with vulnerable populations such as children. This research takes air and surface samples from daycares in the Ann Arbor area to determine what pathogens are present, specifically Influenza A. After processing, the presence and degree of Influzena A were compared to Influenza A levels in wastewater to determine the validity of the testing.
