Abstract

The Washtenaw Alliance for Children and Youth (WACY) is a collective of youth-serving agencies, public system partners and committed individuals working collaboratively to improve the lives of youth in Washtenaw County. One of the ways they do this is through an accessible data infographic of youth trends in Washtenaw County, called a report card. The WACY Report Card allows individuals to quickly reference relevant data and help inform necessary changes for youth development. The Report Card has three main categories: physical health, social health, and mental health for Washtenaw County. By effectively visualizing data and comparing school districts from Washtenaw County and analyzing crucial traits such as bullying, drug-use, and SAT scores, researchers can study the trends of student success and failures from previous years and suggest new educational policies that foster success and meet objectives. Finally, the completed infographic will suggest the newly updated versions of objectives and the vision that WACY is currently trying to create after a renewal of members and goals, so this infographic is important in actualizing this goal.
