English 322: Community Journalism pairs students with practicing journalists working in Southeast Michigan. Offered since 2019, the course gives students the opportunity to pursue their own questions of interest to develop a long-form piece of journalism fit for publication. In the process, students gain an exciting insider’s perspective into the world of journalism and how journalists work within the community. A number of students have gone on to publish stories that originated in English 322.
