Victor Fanucchi, Screen Arts and Cultures | 2020-2021
Students in the Department of Film Television and Media create a wide variety of media work that utilize green-screen compositing. Using professional-quality, wrinkle-proof material in an ideal hue of green that can quickly be assembled into a taut surface large enough to accommodate a head-to-toe framing of a subject, our production students will be in a position to successfully key out the background using compositing effects in editing software and be left with a cleanly cut-out subject that can be combined with other subjects and placed against other backgrounds. DIY green backgrounds have major drawbacks for any media practitioner trying to bridge the gap from an amateur compositing effect to a professional-level effect. By making portable full-body, professional-quality green-screen kits available to students for check out, we will give our students greater flexibility and freedom in completing production projects that call for compositing.
Please note the name of our department is no longer Screen Arts and Cultures. It’s now Film Television and Media, but your drop-down menu choices haven’t been updated to include it.
