Schnade Saintil

I’m Schnadè Saintïl originally from South Florida. My studies include Theatre Performance and Francophone Studies. I have been trained as an actor, and have been interested in the stories that don’t get to be told. I’m really interested in uncovering unexpected intersectionalities in identity, and how that relates to the everyday life. I have thought a lot about the legacy of French colonialism in Haiti, and my research with SiSA leads me to investigate how it’s fared in the Union Territory of Puducherry, where French is an official language. I plan on conducting sociolinguistic research around Pondicherry to uncover how the French language behaves in the Pondicherry community.
