U-M Sexual Citizens Course and Research Project
The Sexual Citizens Course and Research Project seeks to ensure that first-year U-M students know how to maintain healthy relationships, safeguard sexual health and agency, and prevent sexual misconduct. The project, which includes students’ participation in a longitudinal research study (HUM00270529), involves a half-semester (7-week) mini course during the first year of college. The class is jointly offered by the School of Social Work and the Department of Sociology. The research component is designed to assess whether there is any effect of the course on students’ sexual experiences and experiences of sexual harm and misconduct during their time at Michigan. Students must be 18 or older to participate.
