A Day in the Life of Me as A Researcher!

Okay, hi y’all.  So unfortunately my research days aren’t too interesting and I don’t have pictures of my own, so relying on stuff from the internet again.  I do get sleep though (which is a scarce resource over the school year, so I’m thrilled this summer), cause I wake up at around 8:30 am, get dressed and eat breakfast (currently Special K’s Chocolatey Delight with milk; what a treat), and then head towards the Ugli for doing research work from around 9 am to 12 pm.

At the Ugli (short for Undergraduate Library, but no one here calls it that), I end up either searching up research articles that seem applicable towards my research project/to-be thesis for a few hours.  For that, I’m mostly using this beaut:  the Mirlyn Catalog, but I also rely on Databases/Online Journals through the U-M Library Catalog…and Google Scholar when I’ve gotten lazy.  I then make note of which articles seem good and what information to use for making it applicable towards the survey I’m doing.

After that, I eat lunch from around 12-1 pm (or 12-2 pm for seminar days; that’s a really great lunch period).  Sometimes I just go home to eat rice and something else with it, but other times I try a restaurant here.  Partly cause the food here is great, partly cause I love walking around campus.  It’s super relaxing. 😀 This time around, I went to Which Wich, which has gyros that are super good.

Then once I’m out of North Quad or out of seminar, I just go home or to the Ugli and try to do med school stuff while listening to music.  I eat dinner, take a shower, and go to sleep around 12 am to 1 am.

So yeah, uh, could be more eventful….I’m mostly just busy with my research and med school stuff.  But that’s life. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
