The reason why I picked this song is because I we are the Women and Gender summer Fellowship Program, so you could say we are doing the Lord’s work. While I mainly posted this song because I LOVE IT, it is quickly going to rise as a feminist anthem. It has received mild controversy, mainly from religious folks trying to defend God’s image though, if you listen to the lyrics, you can tell Ariana is not speaking about anything holy. I think that has some relation to my work as I am talking from an academic, feminist perspective about something that is quite vulgar.
