The Song (To My Testimonial)

A song that would describe my summer experience well is Abraham by Sufjan Stevens. Not because I played the song out every morning when I woke up or every evening when I went to bed during these past two months, but because I chose the song in one of my previous blogs at the start of the summer. It serves as a site for establishing the growth that I have made since that point, now that there is just one week left until Symposium and I have a research project within my hands.

Back in the post in which I introduced myself through some of my interests, I noted that I had been listening to “Abraham”; it had become a favorite work song of mine because of its quiet and meditative rhythm. I haven’t listened to it much since then. But when I listened to it today, I thought of how things have changed for me and how they are in the process of changing. When I make my way back home next week, and prepare for August testing, revise and improve upon my essay writing with the skills that I have fortunately acquired over the summer, and meet back up with high school friends, I’ll be in a different and better place in my life. Of my steps aligning on the path that they always should have been on.
