Blog #10: Response to Original Letter

Hey Present Sam,

Future Sam here. It’s nice to hear from you. You’re not looking half bad yourself. I myself am currently wrapping up my last week in the WAGSFP summer fellowship. Time sure does fly when you’re working 50 hours a week. Well, like you predicted, this fellowship has given you amazing exposure to Data Science and life as a researcher. You were right about having to Google R functions all summer.  These past 10 weeks have really solidified my decision to major in Data Science at the University of Michigan. Even though the work could be difficult or feel tedious, it’s really been the first field that I’ve felt like I could pursue for the rest of my life. Living in Ann Arbor for the summer hasn’t been half bad either. Although the lack of air conditioning in my bedroom was hard to handle at times, it was so cool to be able to experience Top of the Park, Art Fair, the farmers markets, and all the other offering that make Ann Arbor different in the summer. I cannot express enough how grateful I am to have been able to participate in this fellowship this summer. So hang in there Present Sam! Everything will turn out alright. Enjoy your summer, and see you on the flip side.

Best,

Future Sam
