Freda’s Blog #2

It did not really dawn on me until recently that I have been doing research for over a month. Time has gone by fairly quickly. I appreciate this time to sit and reflect on what this journey has been like so far. I found my anxiety for the weekly Friday meetings slowly turning into anticipation. I was excited to learn something new and see what my assignment was for the next week. While the work was sometimes tedious, I relatively enjoyed it. I spend a lot of my time putting content into a database and reading and double-checking content. This has become a task where I can work leisurely while drinking a cup of coffee and playing some music.

One thing that really made this journey great is the kindness of my mentors. They have created a safe space where I feel comfortable asking questions and being unsure of things – which happens a lot.  This is a new experience to me, and I have definitely hit some bumps in the road.  Several times, things didn’t work the way they were supposed to, but my mentors have been kind and understanding. This has made the process easier to adjust to. It is still crazy to me that we are almost 3 weeks away to the end. I guess time goes by fast when you enjoy what you’re doing.
