I had really great time attending Joe Salvatore for the second time through UROP program. Attending it for the second time was truly insightful to see if I practiced what I learnt from last time and to work on improving my studying styles.
My goal in future is to apply to dental school and to be able to help the underserved community and the uninsured. It breaks my heart when I hear the dental decay is the most common disease in children and there were cases reported that kids died due to dental infections. My ultimate goal is to be part of movement were people getting the required dental treatments and to make it accessible for people from all different socioeconomic backgrounds.
I heard from a lot people around me that I work really hard to get to where I want so that’s something I am really proud of and I hope I will continue to grow professionally to get to where I want to be in the future.
My biggest challenge is managing a lot of responsibilities between family, school, and organizations’ involvements. I definitely learnt a lot of tips from attending the seminar.
One of the biggest achievements was moving to the United States and to manage to live on my own for the first time in a foreign country and the second most important achievement was getting accepted to the dental hygiene program at #1 dental school in the world (University of Michigan School of Dentistry).
