My summer with the WAGSFP has been a great experience for me. While I’ve been involved in research for the past two years, having a summer where I was able to work one-on-one with my mentor and grow my own research abilities has been invaluable. I’ve also been given access to others who can help me with any problems or difficulties I encounter as I work my way toward grad school, which is something I would’ve missed had I not applied. In addition, the seminars have given me a chance to connect with other students doing similar work and learn about research that relates to mine. The skills I have gained this summer will help me in all future endeavors, and I know that having the chance to continue research before the next semester starts has put me closer to my goals.
