My current goals are to succeed as a senior at Michigan, complete my writing samples for master’s programs in August, and prepare for the GRE’s in August as well. After the presentation I realized that I didn’t actively adopt a growth mindset until I was in college. As of now I try to remain…

Here are some suggestions on how to write an effective blog:
– This is not an essay or scientific paper! Use first person, contractions- your own personal voice. While you want to use proper spelling and grammar, don’t feel like you need to confine yourself to the standard essay format you’re used to in other classes.
– Use links. If you reference an interesting magazine article, link it in your blog. If you want to show a relevant youtube clip, go ahead and include it in your post. http://writetodone.com/new-style-blog-writing/
– Use pictures when relevant. They make your post more visually appealing and interesting to read.
– If you prefer to create a podcast or video, feel free to do so. If you have any really creative ideas you want to try, let me know and we can discuss it.
– Please be respectful in your posts and comments. Do not use any offensive or derogatory language.
– While there is no word count for written blog posts, please make sure your posts are insightful and contain all the necessary information. For those of you who aren’t sure where to start, 250-500 words is a good range to follow.
– The target audience is you prior to taking this course

Program Reflection
Coming to the close of these two months intensifies my gratefulness for being a part of, and contributing to, the commitments of this fellowship. I appreciate the seminars because they bring everyone together from our separate enclaves of work and offer chances for us to check the progress we are making against each other, whilst…
WAGSFP: Testimonial
WAGSFP was, overall, a great experience for me. I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to get to conduct my own research project on my own research interests, and to get paid to do it. I loved the independence that the program provided, and my cohort was a lovely group of people. Not only having…
I get by with a little help from my friends
I chose “With a Little Help from my Friends” because it lightheartedly portrays my struggles this summer and how I made it through. Lines like “How do I feel by the end of the day?/Are you sad because you’re on your own?” reflect my frustrations at times with being so independent with my project. But,…
Blog Post 9b: WAGSFP Testimonial
As I mentioned in my other posts, I truly loved my time in WAGSFP, and I’m so glad I chose to do the program this summer. I would recommend a UROP summer fellowship to anyone who wants to be immersed in the life of a researcher. For me, this program solidified my decision to major…
Blog Post 9a: Summer Song
“Working for the Weekend” by Loverboy really speaks to my experience in WAGSFP this summer. Working full time (40 hrs a week) in addition to working 10 hrs a week on another project was really challenging. However, I discovered how much I like having a set work schedule and workday that ends when I come…
Some Mistakes and Obstacles
From the time I spent with Joe Salvatore, I realized that there are actually many goals I have. Besides getting my poster ready for the upcoming UROP symposium, some other goals include finding journals to publish any sort of research paper I decide to make on my study in the future, getting ready for a…
Song of the Summer
[su_youtube_advanced url=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JkQYUl1puCA”] This resonates with how ambitious I have been this summer and how some said I couldn’t do it but now as the summer is winding down, I have done it all. I also connect with a certain level of recklessness Kendrick describes and how he wasn’t supposed to succeed due to where he…
AGHHHH: Not working on something is boring
I made my summer as busy as possible because I knew that if I didn’t, it would mean that I have wasted the opportunity to do all that I can. In that mindset I realize I do not actually have goals. My overall goal and life style is to do as much as possible because…
Opportunities and Challenges
My goal, in the broadest sense, is to be able to spend the rest of my life working with the issues that I am passionate about. I think that for me, this is a great way to conceptualize my goal, because it allows for flexibility in my plans to achieve that goal. I am looking…
