We recently held our Day of Service on April 19th, 2025, and wanted to share a bit about how it went. We
had 71 volunteers join us, along with four local organizations, to contribute to some meaningful projects
across the Ann Arbor community.
Working Together
Collaboration played a big role in this event. We worked alongside Letters of Love, the HomeFree
Initiative, Supplies for Scholars, and COHAP to set up six stations. Each station focused on addressing
certain needs within the community.
- Blanket Making: In partnership with the HomeFree Initiative, we created blankets for the
Delonis Shelter and Peace Neighborhood Center. - Card Making: With guidance from Letters of Love, we made cards to send positive
thoughts to the VA Medical Center. - Utensil and Hygiene Kits: Volunteers helped put together kits that will be distributed
through Hope Clinic. - Dental Hygiene Kits: COHAP supported us in assembling dental care kits for local
distribution. - School Supply Kits: Supplies for Scholars led efforts to gather school materials for local
students.
Looking Back
The contributions didn’t just happen during the event. We received donations from local businesses,
hotels, and dental clinics, which helped us provide necessary items at each station. It’s a good reminder
of what we can achieve when various groups come together.
What’s Next?
Our Day of Service isn’t the end of our engagement with the community. We’re aiming to continue building
our presence at U of M and throughout Ann Arbor. This involves exploring more collaborations, planning
further service activities, and reaching out to share what we do.
If you’re interested in getting involved, we could use your support, whether that means participating in
future events or simply sharing our efforts. Connecting with more people helps us amplify our impact and
reach more of the community.
Feel free to check out our @blueprints4pangaea for updates and more information on how you can
contribute.
Thanks for taking the time to read about our Day of Service. We’re looking forward to continuing our work
and finding new ways to make a difference.
