Did you know that 88% of the U-M community we surveyed noted that they were “concerned” or “very concerned” about microplastics in marine ecosystem?
In a recent survey of the U-M community, many people were concerned about micro-plastics. Of the 25 participants, 28% were unaware which products contained microplastics and 96% reported that they would change their purchasing habits to more eco-friendly alternatives, if given a list of alternatives. Of this subset, 68% noted they would make this shift even if it meant paying extra for everyday items.
The takeaway of this is that microplastics are a SMALL substance that creates BIG problems, and the U-M community is ready to help make change!
