I cannot believe it but this is my final post for the program. I had a late start and an even later than expected finish but the important thing is that I have reached the end.
This summer has allowed me to grow in patience, has taught me research skills I never thought I’d use, and has given me the opportunity to put my Spanish major to good use.
It is a bitter sweet sorrow knowing that I am saying goodbye to the agency. Bitter because I won’t see everyone for a long time but sweet because I know that I will come back to visit in the future.
When I started this program I did not expect to leave feeling a part of the Southwest Detroit community but I do. Research is crunching numbers but community based research is forming relationships.
