Week 10: there wasn’t enough time. – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Week 10: there wasn’t enough time.

A lot was on my shoulders when I started work. It’s just there wasn’t enough time! The people I had to get in contact with were always busy so it took them some weeks to respond. I think I did persevere despite this. I got in contact with as many people as I could and I learned a lot for the next me! The next intern that will take on the Idling campaign will be more prepared than I was able to be, and that is exciting.

Ten weeks later I have learned that things move slowly in the non-profit world. There wasn’t enough time for me to do everything I wanted to accomplish this summer, but that’s ok! There will be a next me to keep going.

As far as contributing to my community, I feel like it gave me more than I could give back(as usual).I learned so much more about myself and my passion for my people. It was great to work here, it was everything I wanted it to be and much more.
