I understand this question wants me to think on the cultural cues I have received at my DCBRP placement, but I thought I would broaden my thoughts on how I’ve noticed culture cues within the City of Detroit, my DCBRP placement, and the apartments:
Detroit Culture cues: I’ve noticed many cultural cues within Detroit and many can be found within the politics happening in and around Detroit, the many communities that have/are building Detroit, the entertainment and restaurants, the neighborhoods, Midtown, Downtown, and Corktown, etc.
Work Culture Cues: I’ve noticed the environment at Osborn Neighborhood Alliance (ONA) is based on helping the surrounding community, neighborhood, and the seemingly revolving door of people who enter the building. If there’s an issue or need, ONA seeks to find a sustainable solution.
Apartment Living Culture cues: The main theme I have noticed within the apartments is Routine. A routine of daily lives that consist of school, work, laundry, food, friendships, and the front desk asking for ‘One Cards’ at inconvenient times.
