Week 6 – DCBRP Micah Griggs

The most convenient and amazing thing happened this past week: my work office moved from Southwest Detroit to Cass Commons! Literally, it is right across the street from WSU University Towers. However, there are two cons about the new move. The new building does not have air conditioning; so, it can become really muggy inside. When that happens, I can just work from home if it’s too hot. Did I mention it’s right across the street from home? The second con is that I will miss the culture and people in Southwest Detroit specifically this taco truck that Erin Rhodes and I would go for lunch every other day. The people that worked there were so nice to us–they would give Erin this super spicy sauce for free and speak to us in Spanish and correct out verbiage. I won’t let this move stop me from going back to Mexicantown.

Also, really upset that Detroit City Council voted to give millions of dollars to the new Detroit Pistons Stadium…..the funds are coming from Detroit Public Schools budget!!! Education of young black bodies is not prioritized!
