7/18/2019 Week 7 – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

7/18/2019 Week 7

One experience that has stuck out to me was at the Concert of Colors. We were eating really good cheese pies and having a good time hearing from artists when disaster struck. I had an anxiety attack. It was the worst I have ever had and it lasted like four hours. It was not fun. I had a bad time. When I got home I rode it out and went to sleep. The next morning I was pretty proud of myself. Even though I didn’t get to really enjoy the music and performances of the artists, I really got to test myself. I found out that I can handle my illness at its worse. I definitely don’t want to test it again but I’m glad I didn’t leave early. I also learned to always be safe when it comes to going out to mandatory events. Next time I will heavily medicate beforehand.
