Week 6 Blog: Shoutout to DCERP! – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Week 6 Blog: Shoutout to DCERP!

The Detroit Community Engaged Research Program (DCERP) is really great. I appreciate the opportunity to learn more about Detroit and its residents. As a native Detroiter, it makes me feel really nice to explore new areas in my town. Also, it’s great to hear how non-natives have a positive change in their perspective of Detroit through this experience. I know firsthand the negative stereotypes that impact Detroit. So I’m glad that programs such as DCERP exist to help eliminate those negative ideals. In the future, I’d love to see DCERP explore more areas of the city during the program. Yet overall, I’m very grateful for this opportunity and look forward to the next few weeks.

Oh my, the time has flown!
