Memories That Last: Week 7 – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Memories That Last: Week 7

An experience that stuck out to me that was not at my placement was in the beginning of the program where everyone went to room 324. That was the spot to hang out and everyone got a chance to get know each other and we just talking. Dominique, Alona, Lindsay, and Daria all made brownies for us and we had a good time full of laughter. I was surprised at how fast their room was established the hanging out room. Every day we would know that 324 was open to hang out with people. I am actually glad it wasn’t my apartment that was the hangout room, because I like to sometimes have some alone time. I enjoyed going over to their apartment and chilling occasionally. It was a great way to relax after a long day of work. I usually would go over after I had dinner. We even sometimes went out to eat with a few people, which was really cool. It was a great start to the building of our community.
