So Far, So Good – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

So Far, So Good

This week has been fairly simple again. For my project I continued to put all my information together and I met with my supervisor to go through what I already have. There wasn’t anything really exciting happening this week. Wednesday I was asked to be featured in an ad GRDC is putting together to showcase their ‘Love Where You Live’ campaign which was …. a little scary! Basically, the campaign is the start of a new volunteer opportunity GRDC is putting together called ‘Trash Talkin’ which is where people come out and have coffee in the morning and then go around the neighborhood picking up litter. They wanted more young people to be interviewed so my supervisor asked if I could be apart. I hate cameras and I hate interviews even more so believe it or not I was pretty nervous. After it was done honestly it wasn’t that bad and I’m interested in seeing how it will turn out!

Next week I shall have a little more to talk about since there will be more things going on!

  1. Being part of an ad sounds so cool (and scary)! When/how will it be shown? What did you say in your interview? Sounds like your internship is pretty cool though, love to hear more about it!

  2. Oh your project sounds really awesome. My project is trying to reach out to the youth as well but it’s hard trying to raise awareness among them without creative strategies like this! The campaign is very clever though! I hope you guys have a lot of success with it.
