NED’s Notes is finished! – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

NED’s Notes is finished!

Hurray — what a relief!! The paper was finally finished on Tuesday, therefore the rest of this week has been much more relaxing. 12,000 copies will be delivered to us on Friday, I can’t wait to see how it’ll look.

One downside is that the graphics company that we were working with charged us as a non-profit a horrendous amount  for their service. Working with other people is definitely hard and their company gave quite a lot of attitude to us…I understand the stress that we put on her and the errors in communication of both sides but I still think if you work with customers, you must hold your tongue/tone regardless. During this NED’s Notes process and project, the Virtual site through our UofM server was a lifesaver! Wow, I’ve actually learned so much through experimentation and just thinking outside of the box. I bring this up because when we were working with the lady from the graphics company, she kept calling and wanting us to send things in different formats. I don’t know what kinds of complex programs they use but I felt like if they were professionals…they should be able to figure converter and petty things like format.

Anyway, I hope they will reconsider how much they charged us and I hope the paper turns out nicely. I’ll definitely bring a copy to the symposium!
