After high school graduation, I knew I wanted to move to another state after I was completely done with school. This program has made me double take my decision. Living in Midtown and exploring several different areas around Detroit with my boss has allowed me to get a feel for the City and the constituents.
Even though I grew up 10 minutes away from Detroit, I grew up with a wrong image for Detroit. The people I met through this program are the kindest of individuals. They are really making me rethink moving from the City. Despite the troubles that give people unnecessary anxiety, I do not think I want to leave. At least, not yet.
