Week 7: Detroit Life – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Week 7: Detroit Life

There are so many wonderful experiences to choose from, but the one that stands out the most is the Detroit Opera House. The interior is beautiful! One would never guess by the way the exterior appears. I had the pleasure of viewing “Faust.” This is a story of a dissatisfied, highly successful man (Faust) who makes a pact with the devil. It was truly a great performance! I wish I had better seats, though.

I would be remiss not to mention the first time I witnessed a Detroit City FC fútbol game. The fans are crazy! So much of the fighting spirit of Detroit can be witnessed at one of these games. The fans have their own chants and cheers to support their team. Unfortunately, I could not attend their final home game at Cass Tech. Still, I will remember that experience for life!

  1. Going to the Detroit Opera House sounds awesome! I hope that I will get the chance to attend before the end of this program! From what I can see in your photo, the interior is extremely nice and I have always been a fan of grandiose theaters.

  2. I’m so glad you were able to go to a DCFC game too! I wrote about my experience at the game as well because it will definitely be one memory of this summer I will never forget.
