“At Last” Detroit woman gets running water after 3 years

The title of my post is the title of the article that I read before I finally got started getting more involved with my internship. Fayette Coleman, a black, 66 year old woman hadn’t had running water for 3 years.

I was appalled by the fact that this woman, this human being, had to suffer in such a manner. This 66 year old woman  collected rain water in a trash can! I mean. How insensitive can we be as humans to take away something so essential as water? Huh? I mean I teared up rereading this article.

It’s atrocious. Part of me wishes that I could do more with my internship so that I could do more for the problem…

Water shutoffs are triflin’.

Period.

Peace Out.
