Week 10: Closing – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Week 10: Closing

As I look back at my first post, I think that I have accomplished all I set out to do. During the first week I didn’t feel like I knew anything about my project or much about EcoWorks, but now I feel like a really became a part of the community here. Going in I didn’t think that I would play a vital role in my project’s progression but now that it is coming to an end for me here, I think I have covered a lot of ground and made strides to help EcoWorks as a whole and the next intern.

From a learning experience, I have developed the tools I will need in a professional environment. I have gained knowledge and expertise in a field that coming I didn’t think I would care much about. My time at EcoWorks will follow me for the rest of my life because it was truly an opening experience.

For the rest of the program, I believe I gained some new friends and figured out the type of people I want in my life. It was great to see the city during the summer for all the new development and exploring it with the internship. I can say without a doubt this has been a great summer.
