Our Group Meetings

I think one of the best components of this internship has been the weekly group meetings. In particular, I love when we visit the placement of some of our cohorts. These visits have been powerful, and quite enlightening. I get to see not only what our other cohorts are doing everyday, but also how impressive the internships are. My favorite was when we visited Brilliant Detroit. I learned so much about how to enter a neighbor and change it for the better, without being seen as an intruder. Sidney was an amazing, and caring woman! I also enjoyed visiting Elsa’s placement, where we met her supervisor. I learned so much about urban gardens, and what they do for our city. While I do love going to my internship placement everyday, I could imagine loving other placements as well. Jenna really did a great job at picking organizations to place us in. I feel excited for the next round of cohorts who get to do this program next year!
