Candace at InsideOut Week 2 – Detroit Community-Engaged Research Program

Candace at InsideOut Week 2

Hello all!
So my work here has definitely been picking up. I have been spending a lot of my time on the computer developing curriculum and researching a bunch of different things. I am very happy to be finally doing something that makes sense and has a deadline. Although I am not the type to sit in an office all day on the computer, I guess it is time I get that experience. Anyway, I have added a couple photos for you all so you can see what I was referring to in our last session. I was able to be very involved with the schools last week and work with some of the youth. I was so amazed by this particular elementary school called Pasteur. It has strong alumni support and truly reflects the importance of cultural recognition. Hope everyone is enjoying their work or at least learning new things!

Best,
Candace C .

  1. wow Candace the artwork is beautiful. I definitely understand the importance of having artwork on hallway (the house i lived in this past year had crazy murals everywhere). It is especially important to have artwork of inspirational artwork of people who look like you! It is great that this school has done that.
